If you’ve found your way here, chances are you love candles as much as we do—or perhaps you’re simply curious about what makes a truly wonderful candle.

At Cheeky Bee Candle Company, we believe a candle should be more than something you light. It should create warmth, atmosphere and a little moment of enjoyment in your day. And when that candle is made from beautiful, natural beeswax, there’s something especially wonderful about it.

Cheeky Bee Candle Company started with a simple love for natural light and traditional craftsmanship. What began as a small idea—making clean, 100% pure beeswax candles that we would actually want in our own homes—quickly grew into something much bigger. From experimenting with different waxes and wicks to learning the art of slow, careful candle making, our journey has always been guided by a respect for bees, nature, and the timeless beauty of candlelight. Today, that same passion is at the heart of everything we create.

So, welcome to our very first blog.

We’re calling this our little corner of the candle world—a place where we’ll share what we know, what we love, and some of the things we’ve learned along the way.

Why Beeswax?

Beeswax has been used for candles for centuries, and there’s a good reason it has remained so special. At Cheeky Bee we only use 100% pure beeswax. Natural beeswax is a beautiful candle-making material. It has a naturally warm golden colour, a subtle honey-like aroma and burns a lot longer than other wax. But not all candles are created equally, and understanding the difference between candle materials can make choosing the right candle much easier.

That’s something we’ll be talking about here.

We’ll explore beeswax candles, how they’re made, what makes natural beeswax special, how to care for your candles, and how to get the longest burn time from them. We believe you should know what you’re buying, we’ll also talk about beeswax and craftsmanship that go into making a Cheeky Bee candle.

There’s something lovely about lighting a candle.

Maybe it’s at the end of a long day, while you’re having dinner with family, when friends come over, or simply when you want to make an ordinary evening feel a little more special. A candle can change the feeling of a room in an instant.

That’s one of the reasons we love what we do. We’re not just making something that gives off light. We’re making something that becomes part of the moments people create in their homes and we think that’s pretty special.

We started Cheeky Bee Candle Company because we believe there is something wonderfully satisfying about a thoughtfully made candle. We care about the beeswax we use. We care about how our candles are made. And we care about the experience our customers have when they bring a Cheeky Bee candle into their home.

That attention to detail is something we’ll continue to share with you here because we don’t think you should have to be an expert to understand what makes a good candle.

We’ll do our best to make the information useful, interesting and—most importantly—easy to understand.
